Left Foot Tophi Resolved Photograph

Complete healing of the ulcer 40 days after the initial observation.

Image from Multiarticular chronic tophaceous gout with severe and multiple ulcerations: a case report.

This is the last of three images in Left Foot Tophi Study. It’s good to see that a foot that was nearly amputated because of gout has recovered to this state. However, the gout patient has lost mobility of the big toe.

This is preventable, as long as you lower uric acid to safe levels before crystals destroy joints.
