In order to understand how bread affects gout, we need to look at scientific studies. Unfortunately, there are not many studies specifically about gout & bread. But we can also look at common ingredients in bread.
First, note that bread is not mentioned in the rheumatologist's guidelines. So there are no recommendations for or against bread consumption by gout patients. Therefore, bread is one of the many aspects of gout that need to be managed by patient and physician working in partnership.
