Laughter Best of Gout Medications
They say laughter is the best medicine, but does it apply to gout medications? There's been a lot of research on laughter, humor, general health and pain relief. I don't really care what the scientists say - what's important is how you and I feel. One aspect of gout is that it tends to make you miserable. Any gout medications that make you feel better have to be a good thing. Laughter certainly scores highly on that count. Most things that make me really laugh are not suitable for a family website, but amusement and entertainment also have their place. One common "treatment" for chronic pain is distraction. I'm doing these over the next week or so. Not particularly funny, I know, but a little simple harmless diversion to amuse and entertain won't harm you. Future planned diversions include:
- Gout at the movies. Inspired by Charlie Chaplain's "The Cure" where he tangles with a gouty old man (see picture above)
- Gout in literature
Most of them will be published first in GoutCaster, my free monthly newsletter. Sign up below. Your email address is safe with me.
So is laughter the best of gout medications? Probably not, but I hope this section will keep you amused. If not, just ignore it - there's plenty of serious stuff on the rest of GoutPal.com
Finally, Amazon now supply videos to download. These are for US customers only at the moment. If you like your humor Britcom style, try the episode of Keeping Up Appearances, now showing on the right. A minor fungal infection of the feet leaves Richard walking like Long John Silver. Hyacinth prefers to let everyone think it's gout, a more aristocratic ailment. I haven't found the episode of Everybody Hates Chris, called Everybody Hates Gout. Let me know if you see it, or any other gout related videos.
