No surprise - foods bad for gout are baked products.
That does not mean that you shouldn't eat them.
Just be careful with your choices.

Baked products are largely flour or cereal based, combined with egg and dairy products. As you might expect, the combinations tend to produce acid producing foods, but not many extreme values. An interesting thing happens when you introduce baking soda, baking powder, cream of tartar and other baking chemicals.
First,note how baking soda gives a zero value for PRAL. Though it definitely has an alkalizing effect, it defies the PRAL calculation, which is an estimation designed for foodstuffs, not chemical compounds. Don't worry about this - we are seeking balanced meals, not planning a chemistry lesson. If you really want to get serious with pH balancing, you need to start testing urine, and possibly saliva.
The best way to treat foods bad for gout is to change the way you think. Don't look for individual foods to avoid - simply focus on foods that are slightly alkaline. When you fancy something from the acid end of the range (which should be about a third of your food), simply balance it with food (not chemicals) that have an alkaline effect. You can see this in the list below [moved - see link above] - the few alkaline foods have flavorings like ginger or fruit.
