GoutCaster Moving --, New Look, New Features
October 24, 2009

Firstly, may I thank you for subscribing to GoutCaster.

The GoutPal website and GoutCaster newsletter have grown too big for the current platform. I am moving to a new service, where I can offer more features and be more responsive to your needs.

This is the last message I will send from the old service. I am sending it to let you know:

  1. You will need to reconfirm your subscription on the new service.
  2. I will send a newsletter from the new service next week. It will include fantastic exclusive gout articles and a mix of some good and bad news for gout sufferers.

I have phased the changeover to run as smoothly as possible, but inevitably there may be small disruptions until all the services are transferred. These changes do not affect Gout Pal Interactive, so you can always contact me via the gout forum if you have any problems.

The new service that I am using for GoutCaster is called Groupsites. This gives us all extra features if we want to use them, but they are optional. Very little changes if you just want to continue receiving GoutCaster, but you will need to reconfirm your subscription.

Confirm Your GoutCaster Subscription

Soon after this email, you will get another email to confirm that you wish to continue receiving GoutCaster from the new service. The subject of the email is "GoutCaster Registration".

Please note that it is sent from cxmailer@collectivex.com If you have email filters, you will need to whitelist that address.

That email has a link for you to accept my invitation. Please follow the link and complete the confirmation form.

The form has more boxes to fill in because new features are available if you want to use them. You do not need to use them, but you must complete all the boxes on the confirmation form. As long as you use your correct email address and a suitable password, it does not matter what you put in the other boxes. You can use assumed names or whatever you wish, but you must complete the form.

The password that you supply, allows you to change any information that you give, so it should be something you remember. Do not worry too much, because we can send you your password if you forget it - as long as your email address is correct.

New GoutPal.com Website

I described some of the new features of the new website in the last issue of GoutCaster.

This message is almost the last step I will be doing on the old website, and I will complete the transfer over the next few days. You may not see many changes at first, as I have deliberately planned to introduce improvements gradually.

I will send a newsletter next week with more details of the improvements and some interesting, and partly disturbing, exclusive articles and gout news.

A final note of thanks

Thank you for reading about these changes to GoutCaster. If you've any ideas for future features, please add them to the Wish List.

If you know anyone else who might be interested, please forward this to them. I'm particularly keen to get views from the medical profession, so why not send it to your doctor? If you do forward it to someone it is a good idea to remove the final two paragraphs, which are automatically added so you can manage your subscription.

If you've been sent this by a subscriber, why not sign up for your own copy? Just fill in the free newsletter subscription form.

Thanks again for reading GoutCaster.
