New Gout Service Announcement

A reader has suggested that I consider a new gout service.

Call it a club, call it a support group, call it a helpline, call it what you like. I’ll call it GoutWatchers.

The benefits include:

• Access to gout-friendly recipes at least 3 months before I publish them on the website.
• Your own online weight monitor. Keep it private, or invite GoutPal, or anyone you like to help monitor and guide you.
• Your own online uric acid monitor for you to record uric acid levels as your physician tests you. Again, it’s your choice of private or public. I believe that monitoring uric acid is the only way you can be certain that your lifestyle changes and gout treatment are really working for you.
• Your own personal lifestyle plan, covering diet and exercise for a healthy gout-free life.
• I will provide unlimited personal support by email.
• My commitment to make this the best online service for gout anywhere in the world. If it’s possible to provide you with any type of gout support, I will do it.

And the cost?
Less than a dollar a day!

But there’s more.

For members who make a real commitment to GoutWatchers, I will provide a free uric acid testing service. This allows you to add your own test results to those that you get from your doctor’s tests.
The free testing service is a portable uric acid testing device, specifically designed for easy use at home. It uses special test strips, which I will supply free for the life of your membership. It is the ideal supplement to regular clinic testing – now you can really see if those tomatoes made you better or worse. I will provide all the help you need to ensure that you get the maximum benefit from this brilliant product.

Although I mention monthly charges, I see this as a longterm commitment. That is why I’m offering the free uric acid testing device for committed members. And you get more – a 15% discount. So a year’s membership is only $275.

I have based these prices on very conservative take up rates. If more people join, the price will come down. If I could afford to do it for free, I would – but this is a personal service, and I need some compensation for the amount of time I will spend with you.
